The project dashboard
Defining a project
The starting point to define new projects is the project dashboard; only users considered as administrator can manage the list of projects.
| Property | Description |
| Project name | The name of the project |
| Unit | The unit (Story Points or Hours) used to size the user stories in the product backlog |
| Velocity | The velocity of the project expressed in the same unit defined for the product backlog (Story Points or Hours). Currently, theSCRUM doesn’t automatically compute the velocity of a project; it must be computed manually. Velocity is used to build the roadmap view. |
| Goal | The goal of the project, displayed at the top of the product backlog. Useful for the team to constantly keep in mind the business goal set for the project, and prioritize user stories accordingly. |
| Manage sprints? | Enable or disable the sprint backlog capacities for each project. If the team decides to go low-tech for the sprint backlog (using post-its and whiteboard), theSCRUM can still be interesting to manage the product backlog in a more convenient way than Excel or Google Docs or… spreadsheets. |
| Go to the product backlog of the project. | |
| Delete a project. This option has to be used wisely, as there is no “undo” option: this option removes all user stories, sprints, tasks… defined for the project. |
Browsing a project
When browsing a project page, the following links are available at the top:
- Product Backlog. See the “product backlog” page for more details.
- Sprint Backlog. Access to the current sprint, including the sprint backlog and whiteboard.
- Sprints. Sprint management, and access to previous sprints.
- Team. Team management, allows to set up and update the team members.
- Roadmap. Allows to adjust the product backlog to be displayed in a global product roadmap. See Roadmap management for more details.
